Dear 2020,

You made it hard. Really, really hard.

You put us in dilemma from the start.

Distanced us from the world that made us happy,

this is not how we wanted the year to be.

We lost loved ones, it’s hard to forget.

Sadly, there is nothing we can do yet.

We trusted that you’d turn things around,

but really things are still the same now.

You surely weren’t our best year,

but an expression of doubt and fear.

But, your time is gone and that’s okay,

let us tell you what you did in the best way…

Our world was full of selfishness and greed,

but you helped us see how people really feel.

You proved that as life gets tougher,

at the end of the day we look out for each other

The countdown to 2021 was a relief,

however it’s hard to believe.

For you taught us so much,

on how sometimes we need to sweep off the dust…

Sweep off the dust, and be strong,

Be strong in belief, and pray nothing goes wrong.

That’s what brought people together,

and when we had each other, nothing else mattered.

Yes, life has changed in different ways,

but we owe you for putting this world in place.

From a world of so many hollows,

you shined a light to make many heroes.

This is our goodbye to you,

this is a beginning of something new.

You showed us that life holds so much meaning,

dear 2020, you are forgiven.
