I really can’t keep on pushing my fearful thoughts aside anymore, thinking I can deal with them later, but what if that ‘later’ never comes? And so, this is the moment where I come face-to-face with my fears and question myself that if…I had yesterday and I have today, how will I know that I have tomorrow?
Right now at this very moment, you are reading this blog…and in the next second, you never now what can happen…the time could stop, the street lights could burn out, all the noises’ would die down, and that’s it. All life gone in a matter of a second.
I know that all these thoughts might be crowding your head now, but this is how I feel almost everyday. Yes, maybe its some psychological distress, but I wanted to make a statement out of this almost-normal everyday thought that roams my mind.
Our mothers’ carried us 9 months, to bring us here, a place full of things both wonderful and harsh. At a moment like this we are currently facing, during quarantine, we would categorize it under ‘harsh’ for we are isolated from everything around us. Now here is a message in it itself: we only realize how valuable our world is, when we are shut away from it. Our world is beautiful, she is powerful, she is perplexing, and she treats us like our own mother’s, from giving us a foundation, an empty space, where we put our thoughts and actions into a creative machine, thus aiding our growth to become wise, matured, successful individuals.
To state my point more clearly, you never know when you might have your ‘last dance’, that final dance to a slow song, that replays all your memories of your life , bringing you to tears. We as humans, know very little though we think we know much, and the very ‘little’ we know, are the things that need to be refined and put into action. These ‘little’ things, are the things that makes up who you are as a person, such as love, friendship, intelligence, craziness and much more. You might think that you displayed good qualities in life while contributing to society or you might think you haven’t displayed the right qualities yet, that is keeping you away from making good decisions. Well, its not too late to change, after all, we all are different, but at the end of the day, we never know, we all might have one last dance together. So change right now, throw all the negativity out the window, trust me we don’t need sad songs in our life, all we need is the good old legend, Whitney Houston’s ‘I wanna dance with somebody’ playing on the radio, because we all need to ‘dance’ with somebody, and that somebody is each other. Be it your mum, your dad, or even your crush ;), just go and dance with them, enjoy every moment. We all deserve it, for I believe we all leave a legacy behind, so why not leave a good one.
I fear no more, cos’ I got your back, and you got mine, and we’re all about living every moment till we die.
Keep smiling y’all- Anshala
